Phil. 3:20-"For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ." As we conclude this verse, today we consider-"...from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ." In discussing why true believers are so different than the "enemies of the cross" mentioned previously, Paul states that we are citizens of heaven. Then he shares the overwhelming hope of all believers-we look for Jesus to come from heaven. Could there... be any greater hope? We know He ascended into heaven as recorded in Acts 1:9-"And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight." Jesus had already promised that He would return in John 14:2-3-"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." Wow, we have His word and promise. What a promise and what a hope. Paul actually called it "the blessed hope" in Titus 2:13. How could we not rejoice today? We rejoice "because our names are written in the Lamb's book of life."! We rejoice because Jesus is making intercession for us today. (Rom. 8:34). We rejoice because we know He is coming to rapture His Church. (I Thes. 4:16-17). We rejoice that we shall be with Him forever. No wonder this world doesn't mean anything to a sold out child of God. We have higher and greater interests. Thank you Father for your love! Thank you Jesus for your grace. Thank you Holy Spirit for your presence, comfort, and power. We are truly blessed to be citizens of heaven! Did I just hear your Amen? Hallelujah!
